The engraving is based on a photograph taken during my last trip to my hometown. In winter, it’s a polar night, with extreme cold and storms, and huge snowdrifts. But it’s precisely this aesthetic that I associate with New Year and magic. Trees covered in frost, the crunch of snow, and the howling of the wind in the darkness — it’s in this atmosphere that fairy tales thrive and miracles happen.
